The sun goes down
The world turns off
Darkness surrounds
And i wake up

Distant bulbs and
Solitary car horns
A single light
Determined to burn on
A little squeak
A little hiss
A window beats
When winds kiss
A forgotten ghost
A lonely soul
Shallow stares of
White room wall
Abandoned dreams
Dampened screams
Desires peak
But body so weak
Yet it won't sleep

Eyes heavy with responsibility's weight
Time is steady while eternity waits
Its the kingdom of silence
A gateway to a world
Humans evolved to miss this!
I am greatly appalled!
While going against nature
Is a curse I relish
For some daylight sleep though
